Accounting that lives with the work
Books that accrue from payroll, bills, and inventory

Your books accrue as the work happens. Wages, commissions, payments to vendors, and inventory all live in PoolPenguin, so those entries post on their own — you are not retyping the month into a second system.
It posts as you work
- Payroll close records wages to payroll expense and clearing.
- Commissions accrue when they are earned, then clear when they are paid.
- Vendor bills and payments update payables as you enter them.
- Inventory receipts and adjustments move the inventory accounts.
- Customer invoices and payments hit receivables and revenue without a second entry.
Bank accounts and statements
Add checking, savings, and credit card accounts, then import CSV or Excel statements. PoolPenguin suggests matches to customer payments, bills, and payouts so you can accept them instead of re-keying every line.
Match, categorize, reconcile
- Accept a suggested match, or search by customer, vendor, or memo.
- Categorize everything else, and let bank rules fill in the accounts you use every month.
- Reconcile to the statement ending balance and finish when the difference is zero.
Chart of accounts
Keep a full chart of accounts, post manual journal entries when you need an adjustment, and map accounts to QuickBooks when your accountant still works there.
